Robert Stephenson was successful in defending two companion negligent security cases, Holston v. Double Quick, Inc., and Thomas v. Double Quick, Inc. In these cases, an assailant shot two individuals at a convenience store, killing one of the victims. Robert Stephenson represented the security company which had dispatched a security guard to work at the convenience store. The Circuit Court of Leflore County, Mississippi, granted summary judgment in both cases finding that the security company owed no duty to the plaintiffs.
