Smith Gets Case Dismissed

Leland Smith obtained dismissal of a lawsuit from a former employee who claimed that her employer was liable for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress; Defamation; Retaliation; Breach of Implied Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing; and Violation of the Mississippi Whistleblower Protection Act.

The former employee based these claims on her alleged “demotion” and subsequent constructive discharge. Mr. Smith asserted numerous defenses and, after discovery, the case was dismissed.
