Adams v. Brian Center-Eden, Rockingham County, North Carolina (June, 2011)

Carl Hagwood received a unanimous defense verdict in Rockingham County, N. C., after a two-week trial in a wrongful death and personal injury case. The complaint alleged that the staff of the Brian Center in Eden, N. C. were negligent in the care rendered to Malinda Adams causing personal injury and wrongful death. The specific allegations involved failure to turn and reposition, failure to give proper nutrition and hydration, failure to prevent pressure sores, specifically a sacral ulcer, failure to heal the sacral ulcer once developed which allowed the sacral ulcer to become infected resulting in sepsis and death.
