Doty Wins Workers Compensation Hearing

September 25, 2012.

Sandra T. Doty received a favorable ruling from the Workers’ Compensation Commission in McLaurin v. Wal-Mart involving an employee at the Gulfport store.

In it’s ruling, the Commission said that the employee had not met his burden of proof in that the facts did not support his multiple versions of a slip and fall accident. He produced no witnesses to corroborate his testimony and video clips of store activity the day of the alleged incident did not support his allegations. The claimant’s medical records revealed numerous pre-existing medical conditions, including pre-existing complaints related to the same alleged injured body parts.

In the ruling to deny benefits and dismiss claims, the Commission found that “...clearly, he did not suffer a work-related injury...”
